I new muscle cars were dead when I read about some guy getting a speeding ticket at 130 mph in a Hyundai. Jeeps, trucks, and family cars often go 0-60 < 7 secs and stick to the road. You don't have to buy a sports car nowadays to get sports car performance.

The other posts have pointed out that a lot of younger people don't have the spending power. At the same time if they do, flashy cars don't seem to be as high on the list of spending priorities.

But there are more affordable sports cars choices than ever I think. Ford Focus ST & Fiesta ST, Mini, Fiat Abarth, Civic Si, WRX, Golf GTI, Miatas, Scions. The 2015 Mustang and 2016 Camaros will be amazing sports cars in terms of both speed and handling. This is a great time to be in the market.
