It started with a Chevrolet but...
When I was 16, I bought my first Chevrolet. It was a 1974 Chevrolet Nova, which my grandfather and I worked on in the garage. I paid 1800 doll hairs to buy it, 6,000 doll hairs to fix it up, and 2 jobs later it was finished. Sadly the invasion of Iraq caused the gas prices to soar and I was unable to afford a car that got several gallons to the mile. I sold it and not wanting to cut my Chevrolet roots, I bought a 1991 Quazar Blue Corvette. After blowing the motor twice, I rebuilt it one last time and jumped into a 75 Camaro... It was a great car but as I got older, I started wanting the bells and whistles in my car that pre 2000's car lacked. This is when I bought my first Ford Mustang. It was a 2003 Mustang GT and full bolt-ons later and a handful of Camaro victims, I purchased my second car, 1994 Cobra with a 70mm Turbo and about 650hp. My passion for mustangs began in 2008 and I never thought I would look back at Chevrolet. I loved mustangs; I loved their performance and their styling. Then I bought another mustang to add to my stable for daily driving which was a 1996 Mustang V6... Fast forward a few years, I ended up selling them all for a 2008 Highland Green Bullitt, which I loved. A year later I hopped in a brand new Sterling Gray 2012 Mustang GT 5.0. I was on a mustang binge; I couldn't get enough of the blue oval.
I never really liked the Camaros, to be honest. I looked at them and I just saw a big car. Well after finally selling the 5.0 and the good times that came with it, I was on the prowl for a next Mustang. After going back and forth with either a Boss 302 or a 2013 Shelby GT500; my mind was in a craze. I couldn't make it up. Then, I ran across a new 2014 1LE. I didn't understand the feelings that instantly ran through my back on that day. It was a weird tingle that went straight to my balls. I liked it... Suddenly, I started thinking about all the Mustangs I ever had, and the good times that came with them; they weren't that great to me any more... I was in an automotive mid-life crisis. I spoke with the dealer and he blew me off; just thought I was some kid looking for a quickie... Didn't think I could afford it, so I made that a point that Camaro's weren't for me...
Lying in bed that night, I found myself on YouTube thinking about that Boss 302, I was going to be driving soon... but it just seemed black and white all of a sudden... That Race Red color lost its aurora and it wasn't appealing anymore... I sat there trying to understand why... and it was a 1LE that was fused into my brain... It was like seeing the most beautiful girl ever and she winked at you....but you're married...
I went back to the dealer, and again they blew me off... Wouldn't even let me testdrive it... I ran off into the sunset trying to close a book of guilt and treachery; I was done and I didn't want a Camaro...
But before I could go back to wanting that 5.0 liter engine... a link was sent to me by my friend who so happen to drive a corvette...
Clicking is up to debate on whether it was the best choice or the worst choice...
There she was... a white 2014 1SS 1LE…
I told myself, I hate white and if I were ever to get one, it would have to be the 2SS....
But I had to make a call to the dealer, just out of curiosity... I had to.
1 hour later going back and forth, telling the dealer how I love mustangs and have never driven a new Camaro before...
She's on her way home to me on a trailer...
I did it...
The Nova sealed the deal for me when it came to Chevrolet... It was my roots; it was the car that made me never forget Chevy... The heartbeat of America still pumped in my heart, and on that day it received a jump start from the Chevrolet Jesus...
I'm back and I think I made a good choice.
sooo...
