Very cool, we are likely in the golden age of gasoline powered automobiles. Tesla's cars, Porsche's Hybrid super car, Mclaren's Hybrid Super car, BMWs Hybrid sports car, these are all foreshadowing of what is to come. They won't be getting much more powerful than this folks.
With 700 HP though this thing will probably command 80+ Gs out the door. I still haven't seen official weight yet but it will probably weigh about 4400-4500 pounds. Will it be faster than the GT500/ With the 6MT, I say definitely not. It is all going to come down to how good this 8 speed auto is. I'm not sure 707 HP is going to be enough to take down the GT500 but we will see.

How many cars built for the track like the ZL1's, 1LE's and Bosses will actually do 1 lap around a road course. How many of those same cars will engage in a race with another in some sort of straight line competition? I bet the amount is a staggering lop sided difference.
Absolutely! I think the ZL1 is an amazing car but I would never buy one. If I want a track car, I'll get a real track car. The ZL1 and Z28 are awesome but at the end of the day they are cruiser muscle cars in sheep's clothing. I mean come on the Z28 needs 305 "street tires" on all four corners. I'd rather get a true sports car for track days. I bought the Camaro because I know the only track I'll be going to anytime soon is the drag strip and I wanted something that looks nice, that is comfortable to cruise in, and can boogie from a dig/roll. The next fastest newer car I could have gotten was a 5.0. At the 50g price range I'm going used exotic, particularly an Aston.
"Track" cars are nice and all but you honestly need a ton of money on top of your purchase price to really have fun. And no matter how good a driver you are there is still a real chance you could put a ZL1 or Z28 right into a wall at any moment. Pros crash all the time, but they are FUNDED. Even the most bone headed driver can handle a quick roll race in a straight line (on a desserted Mexian Highway).
