The other is the whole "its not built for the drag strip". Its still a 3800lbs camaro with a ls7 and sticky tires. Sure it shouldnt pull the wheels but it still should be capable of running damn good times with those specs. Not high 12's imo.
Ok, here's my view, I'm not into mag bench racing. But the main review of the z28 I remember was motortrend's which ran I think low 12's (looked it up 12.3 @ 117.2mph) that's about right for a 3850lb N.A. car with a manual transmission.

Also imo just focusing on 1/4 times compared to the 392 (nice motor btw) dismisses, all the tech, engineering, cost spent and FOCUS on what GM is aiming at with the Z28. For example you don't add $10k carbon ceramic brakes to be faster in the 1/4, you don't add 305 tires at all 4 corners for the 1/4mile, you don't add formula 1 type shocks for the 1/4mile... Etc... If all GM wanted to do was make a camaro with an LS7 then they would have made it an option for the camaro 1LE and called it a day, not to mention at least $25,000 cheaper. That was not their intention nor the consumer that actually buys a Z28. That's my 2¢...

Edit: BTW the camaro z28 tires are practically track tires that take a lap or 2 to warm up, it's not a drag tire, there very little grip until they warm up.
