Now Road & Track is claiming 50 - 250 lbs gained.
According to them, Base V6/Ecoboost will gain 50 - 70 lbs. A bast GT will gain 170, and a fully optioned premium GT will gain 250.
IF....IF that is true...welcome to the fat club boys. lol.
According to the Ford website: (
http://www.ford.com/cars/mustang/spe...ions/view-all/ ) at GT manual weighs just aover 3,700 lbs. So that means the new GT will be right around, or maybe just below 3,900 lbs, while a premium would be well over 3,900 lbs.

If its going on Alpha it will be lighter. How much? Who knows, (I'd guess 200 lbs give or take) but unless they decide to put the car on an even longer Alpha wheelbase than the current 5th gen, it will certainly be lighter than the new Mustang if the information above is true.

Seems to me, that the 6th gen being lighter and having more torque is a real possibility. Not sure about horsepower yet though.

I think the new power numbers will be 390-400TQ and 430-440HP. No more than old BOSS engine though. We will see who is right for sure when Ford nuts up and reveals final specs.

I want to join the Mustang6G website just to try and explain this very simple fact to those guys. Look at the "heavy" "pig" 1LE, which already beats the BOSS. While it sucks that the Mustang may gain weight, that doesn't mean its not going to be a great drivers car. I still believe that it will. But now we may get to call it the "fatty" lol.
If anyone finds "ThePill" coming to the rescue on this issue please let me know....but so far hes been quiet. No surprise there. lol
