I seriously doubt the new intake manifold flows better than a Boss. The intake cams are slightly bigger than boss but the exhaust side is the same. I would have to see head flow data before I would agree that they flow better than Boss heads. It's the charge motion control plates that are going to hurt some peak HP. Those and many other specs of the engine help torque and low- mid range power but are not good for peak HP. I know this because they came in my 3v GT. People would remove them and gain 10RwHP but lose mid range. They are putting them in most likely because the car is getting heavier. Smart move if you ask me but I seriously doubt the peak power will eclipse a BoSs. We will see for sure when specs come out.

They were claiming it was faster then the Boss 302 around the track, so unless the track has pot holes at every corner, it should also make more power to offset the weight. I'm gonna guess at least 450hp on the S550.

I've been saying since they said it was going to lose 200 pounds that no way in hell that will happen. I was even more sure when they said wheelbase will stay the same. Unless they threw a ton of lightweight material at it and priced it as much as the new M4/M3, no chance of it being lighter then the S197. If it's gonna be that heavy, I would rather have a small block under the hood, as long as Chevy fixes the visibility and my head hitting the roof over bumps in the Camaro.
They could make the new Mustang faster than a Boss on a road course track with out giving it any extra HP over the old Coyote. The 1LE does it with 426HP and 3850lbs of curb weight. That statement in no way means it will be faster in a straight line or have more power than a Boss or even old GT.
I think the new power numbers will be 390-400TQ and 430-440HP. No more than old BOSS engine though. We will see who is right for sure when Ford nuts up and reveals final specs.
