Anyway, I'll wait until Ford gives the official specs out before trusting these numbers but ... I could never really see how Ford would be able to keep the Mustang at the same size, add an IRS, meet ever tougher crash standards, and keep the car at the same weight without resorting to expensive light-weight materials (which would then price it out of its intended market).

So true. I expected it to gain weight; but not that much. We'll see the real numbers soon enough.
