As has been mentioned before, there are designations that fit between LT1 and LT4.
And no one has said the LT4 is the penultimate new-Gen SBC.
BTW, I included the LPE flat crank vid so 1) the Chev folks don't get all upset about the thoughts of Ford having something "extra-special", and 2) "been there, done that, gave the t-shirt away". No, that is NOT an active GM Powertrain program, but they ARE aware of it, and the tech obviously exists. For ALL. Not just Ford.
