When trying to re-establish yourself, you need to convey obvious value. While I do not for a second believe that Cadillac's aren't worth their ARP's (except Escalade and ELR), it's going to take a decade of consistent quality and value to convince some people to walk into a Cadillac dealership, let alone buy one.

Some people will still not buy one just because it does not have Mercedes written on it.
I remember several years ago when Toyota made both a Chevy version and Toyota version of the Corolla. A magazine (I can't remember which one) did a experiment and brought in a group of people to test drive both and choose the one they would buy. The first test group chose the Corolla 3 to1 over the Chevy. Then they brought in another group but this time all they did was switch the badging. That group did the same thing chose the one with the Toyota emblems over the one with the Chevy emblems...
In other words the quality of the car mattered less to most than the name that was on it.
