The stats and benchmarks can show you what's better. No need to drop hundreds of dollars to see for yourself. AMD is great for a budget CPUs and GPUs, but if you want the best Nvidia is really the only option. I originally wanted an R9 290x but then I saw the video of the fan noise and realized that in order for AMD to compete with Nvidia they have to run their cards at 100% all the time. That's when I went with the 780 Ti. Why don't you OC GPUs? They're stupidly easy to do with the new ones. Just download Precision X and drag the sliders to your liking.
