I still can't get over how narrow peoples comfort zones are now...
I've driven plenty of POS cars in my life that had inside door handles that didn't work, no power steering, no airbags, holes rotted thru the floor, engines that could and did die at random times.
Guess what? I'm still alive and have never crashed after 22yrs of driving. Matter of fact, I owned a '98 dodge Dakota 5.9 R/T and it had this problem where the ignition wire would pop off the coil sometimes. That resulted in the engine dying. First time it happened to me, I was doing 70MPH in traffic in Houston on the freeway. It did not result in anything remotely close to crash and die. I coasted over to the shoulder, thru traffic, carefully, stopped on the shoulder, popped the hood...wow, this wire is unplugged, then drove away.
Everyone wants everything that happens to them to be the responsibility of the closest entity with money.
