It is still the Mustang, 60s and most of the 70s it ruled with roost, in the 80s/early 90s the 5.0 cleaned the Camaros clock, even those late 80s/early 90s with the TPI 350, The 84-86 SVO was the first Pony car to put handling/balance as a priority and one of the first true turbo 4 cylinder performance cars, the 93 Cobra did it again and ushered in SVT, The Camaro had 93-95, but when the DOHC 4.6 hit the Cobra in 96 it took the reins again until 98 when the LS1 appeared. the Camaro/FIrebird had 98-2002 (though 99 and 01 Cobra were pretty daggone close. The 99 Cobras were also the first pony cars to bring IRS into the mix. Those Cobras at least the ones that the power that was advertised), Ford continued even without the Camaro with the ground breaking supercharged 03 Cobra, and then in 07 with the monstrous GT600. Camaro had 10, but Mustang quickly caught up and passed it for 2011. The Mustang is still ahead in the power wars, though the Camaro may be a more balanced package, the 661 HP GT500 is at least 81 HP dearer than anything in the Camaro Stable.......
