Ive had many many arguments over on MC about the Mustang/Camaro debate and probably made some enemies because of it because of my defense for Ford and thats mainly because my father and grandfather drove Ford's so thats what I grew up with be it good or bad so I see it as a family thing more so than a actual defense of Ford.
I started my Ford ownership in a Mustang II, had plenty of fox bodies and whats called S197 body style and ive had Camaro's mixed in with the Ford's and ive had some duds in Mustang's and Camaro's.
My biggest thing has been the GM bailout but at the end of the day that bailout gets a argument NO WHERE, just pisses everyone off. Ford, GM and Chrysler have seen bad times but they are still here.
I sold my last Camaro SS for a 2013 Ford Mustang 5.0, loved the motor but not how the Mustang drove or how it was built but I also had issues with my 2012 Camaro SS but I am back in a 2014 Camaro SS mainly because I like it better and I like the motor better. The new 5.0's have problems with dropping the #7 & #8 cylinders however I didnt but I did have problems with rust on the inside of the front fender and a leaking rear end which I wouldnt let a Ford service department touch mainly because they would make it worse IMO. But in defense of Ford I had bought a new 1997 Camaro SS and 2,500 miles later it developed a rear main leak, GM sent me a certificate so I could trade it and I bought another one and it did the same thing at 7,500 miles.
So all of this arguing Ford & Chevy wont get us no where, I think they BOTH make a great muscle car and we should be glad that they are still around, including dodge because someday soon there wont be no more V8's, we will be riding around in V6's and ecoboost 4 cylinders and to be honest that will suck...
No offense to V6 owners but I grew up on V8's and when I think of Ford, Chevy or Mopar Muscle, its a V8....
