Never a clean service

Warning, mild venting alert....

I took my car in to an independent shop for the usual maintenance today. Sadly I can't do my own work since our apartment has a no-wrenching policy. A little while later I get a call from the guy telling me the work is about done. Going through the work, he said he checked the brakes, and with 3 years and 39,000 miles on them, the brakes are still at 80%. Now that's the kind of news that just puts a smile on your face. I love how long GM's brakes last. Unfortunately, that happiness was shattered with his next announcement. Both front struts are leaking significantly and must be replaced ASAP. My car is still under warranty and this is pretty premature for the struts to go out, but it isn't as slam-dunk, cut-and-dry warranty issue. So now I get to go down to the dealership and try to get this covered under warranty. If not, this is gonna cost... Sigh.
