Quite honestly, the last thing I'd want in a frequently tracked car is a whole laundry-list of features I wouldn't ever use when out on the track and rarely if ever anyway.

I agree about the speakers - even headphones have two, and A/C does provide better defrosting action when the windows are closed. After that, the list of "gotta-have's" gets really short and the list of "don't want's" grows. Maybe instead of "add" options, it's time for performance-intended cars to offer a variety of "delete options", and when you opt up to a car with 1LE or higher performance intent you open up a number of these delete options that wouldn't have to be available otherwise.

Norm, we talked earlier about a GT350-R as a possibility: de-contented in creature comfort, re-contented with the track-focused features (R-spec tires, C-C brakes etc.). Both with the "new" engine. Not unlike the recently retired BOSS and BOSS LS, only this time the end result might be closer to the 302-R, but with a VIN. Greater production volume lowers the unit cost per special engine. Or have the GT350 share some major features (e.g. engine) with another "special"...Mach 1 etc.

They've done THAT before, so it's easily repeatable...
