And I think if Ford builds it right it could easily run with the Z/28. The new Mustang is already lighter then the Z/28. If they strip it down the weight gap will just increase. No more solid rear axle will close the gap preformance too. We're taking about a car that is lighter and has more power then the Z/28. If they can get the suspension set up right, put decent tires on it and through i a little flying car magic, It will be close.
Where did you find the mustang is lighter? All reports I have seen speculate a heavier curb weight due to the added weight of irs, it's wider than the previous generation and it has more "stuff" in it they any previous mustang. I believe one review was from edmunds first look.
