So first, I've had two pair of Florsheim Imperials in my life. The first I purchased about 20-21 years ago. I really wish I still had them since they don't have a comparable style available anymore.
I understand that the Florsheim name doesn't mean what it once did, but I found the Florsheim Royal Imperial Monroe that I really liked. I ordered it tonight.
There's a Allen Edmonds store about an hour from me. Probably going to make a trip to there in May to get fitted for a brown or burgundy wing tip.
Also on that trip, I've found a tailor in that area that might be okay. Think I'm going to look at three suits from them. Not much more expensive than some off the rack options. The tailor has been in that area since 1978 and been doing the work since 1968.
I have never had a suit tailored before. I'd really be interested to hear if anyone has anything to say about previous experiences with tailors, good or bad. Of course I'm checking Ask Andy and those places, but don't we all trust the opinions of fellow Camaro owners just a little more about things.
