BTW, the "Bill Straup" reference (and subsequent 'net references) in the '63 Catalina portion of the yahoo autos story is, at best, misspelt and possibly erroneous.
Bill Stroppe was the West Coast contact for Holman-Moody and, from the '50s, did extensive work for Ford and Mercury. His shop was located in
Long Beach. Work on a Pontiac would have been outside his normal business case... But anything's possible, I guess.
