Does the word "Compulsive" pop into mind??? Easy to get carried away/obsessed. Like everything in life, too much is not good, and its so easy to become fixated on goals/numbers. I don't like my hubby to ever get leaner than 18%. Too freaky and gross to be that ripped. Pro bodybuilders only stay around that 6% for short amounts of time because its Super Unhealthy! And for women it's even worse, much more damaging. Funny how a sport was built around such extreme health levels. Now even middle school kids are using roids, their bodies haven't even fully developed yet, can only imagine the kind of permanent damage being caused.
A guy hubby worked w/his 14 yr old son was benching in the mid 300s. Trained under the guidance of a Pro Female Bodybuilder. Seems too young for that kind of intensity. At 16 he held the school record for most bench press reps at body weight, something like 36 reps! Although it does seem like a very fair way to strength test. Instead of a set amount of weight, everyone gets on the scale and you lift your own weight.
