I should have made it clear in the OP that the officer specifically told me that he
heard me and that's how he got me. There was no pacing or radar gun involved, and I do doubt that he was able to accurately gauge a speed given how brief of a window he had to see me drive by. He claims that I was doing 50 in a 35 and that the turn I took was reckless (I did floor the gas as soon as I cleared that turn, don't think it'd qualify as such). The first thing the man said to me when he came to my window was that he was sure that I was going to make a break for it and disbelief that the car was my own. The impression made was that he felt I was a spoiled kid.
