When choosing a bread it should say 100% whole grain, 100% whole wheat etc. NOT Made with 100% whole grain. There is a big difference. I like a bread called Ezekiel. It doesn't have high fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated oils so it doesn't have a shelf life like processed breads so it is found with frozen foods to stay fresh. I also use Joseph's flax, oat bran and whole wheat pita bread, it's excellent for making sandwiches without added carbs.
