So what I've seen a lot of folks do is simply bend the exhaust off to the side or putting an S-bend in the pipe up and then down and then out back, and supposedly that curbs the drone.
Does that sound like a legit fix?

Had a friend of mine do this method with his I6 TB, and it works to an extent, but pretty much didnt help a ton (still drones pretty bad on the highway). I would suggest leaving the resonator as well, even though it looks like poo. Flowmaster 40 series should give you the sound your looking for without being too drony. Hope this helps
