In TMNT#1...I'm looking at it now...the comic starts off with the turtles trapped in an alley by the Purple Dragon gang. The turtles kill...all of them. They go back home (yuck) and meet with splinter (gross), who tells them of his master killing a rival with his bloody bare hands (pictured). His master moved to the USA, blah blah, murdered by his rival's brother- the Shredder...do di do...toxic chemicals, sewers...mutations, turtles grew up fast...la la la...trained them to be...ninja...ok, it's a comic book, it made more sense in 1985, moving along...ah, yes, killing Shredder.

The turtles fight shredder, along with his clan, on a rooftop. The turtles kill all of the clan, after appropriate slicing and dicing, and then attack Shredder. They defeat him, Leonardo having run him through. They give him a chance to save his honor by committing seppuku. Instead he takes out a thermite grenade (everyone who's anyone has one of them) and tries to take the turtles with him, presumably to hell. Shredder is knocked off the building, the grenade explodes as he and it fall, and that...is (maybe) the end of Shredder.

Most of the killing is implied or not directly shown but characters get cut up, have faces that are bloody pulps, blood is flying through the air, etc.

...and hey, I have a Conan comic from '81 and an Unknown Soldier...cool. haven't looked at this stuff for years
