I owned a 2005 C6 and a 2008 C6 Z51. When it came time to replace the 2008, I bought a 2012 2SS Convertible in 1969 pace car colors. Very happy with it but, yes, it is not a Corvette.

So I ordered a 3LT M7 Z51 Coupe. I will be happy with the Camaro until I get the new corvette, but I do not regret my decision. You are right. The Camaro is a great car, but it's not a corvette.
