Even midsize - fullsize sedans with the LFX struggle to get much past 30mpg highway. Camaro is rated at 28 - 29. I don't see the Colorado getting 30 with the LFX.
Yes it should get better mileage than the Silverado, but I don't think we can expect huge differences when your comparing the two V6 offerings. By the way, is that 24mpg with the V6 crew cab or extended or regular cab?
Anyway, for the V6 I'd expect a decent 2 - 3 mpg better comparing 2wd or 4wd trims. Silverado V6 4x4 looks to be rated at 22 highway. If the Colorado 4x4 can get 25 I think that's good.
In my opinion you have to look further than that. The Colorado should cost considerably less up front, plus the gas savings over time, not to mention the "better fit" for you lifestyle which is why people should consider the Colorado over the Silverado in the first place. For me, the Colorado is the right size truck. If you feel a fullsize is more of what you need, then that's what you should be looking at.
