I try not to directly target the same muscle groups in the same week, I target my upper body. Then lower body but I'm indirectly working out my upper body (kettle bells swings) steps all hit the arms and shoulders. Also during core training you hit the legs and upper body as well.... If you target the se muscle group you don't give that group enough time to recover and start causing break down.
