Tell me of a North American Ford dealer that wouldn't/couldn't wrap a promo opportunity (read: traffic builder) around the "ONE DAY-ONLY very special appearance of Mustang #1!!", gladly pay $2,000 (or MORE - chump change, relatively!) for that appearance, and smile all the way to the bank?
There's HOW MANY Ford stores to be visited over the next two-three years? At $2,000 a pop?
Do the math...
$300,000 was Grand Theft Auto, Version Gen-6...

I think you're really overdoing the significance of the 2015 Mustang. I get that its a new design and ford is trying to go global with this, but in the end its just a redesign. Did Ford make such a huge deal when the S197 mustang was revealed? Do you really believe people were dying to see #00001? Everyone knows what a mustang is. This isnt some brand new, never seen, completely world shattering car. Its a mustang.
This is not the same thing as the actual original #001 mustang produced back in 64'.
