Street-Legal NASCAR Cars, Starting at $50K

I may be buying a Camaro AND one of these.

The manufacturer produces running street-legal NASCARs built to customer specifications. Mike Burkhardt of American RaceCars and Furniture confirmed that he picks up old cars from Sprint Cup teams and refurbishes them with all-NASCAR internals, including brand-new 100K-warrantied 358 cubic-inch V8s tuned to Late-Model specifications, which translates to about 600 hp and much greater durability than the hard-running 850+ hp mills used in the Sprint Cup series. The cars can be fitted with either automatic or standard transmissions, and as many distinctly non-racecar-like creature comforts as the customer can stand (such as a stereo system, or doors that actually open). Some companies have them built as "rolling billboards," allowing them to plaster a stock car with their logo without actually having to sponsor a stock car. Others are hobbyists and professionals who run the cars in local racing series.

FROM ARC:

A.R.C started building street legal nascars in 2005.We put the first number 16 national gaurd Greg Biffle NEXTELCUP car on the road.To see this vehicle go down our city streets and highways"well it was amazing".It was a very big hit for the corperate industry to be able to use these vehicles for rolling billboards. A.R.C built these to be one of the safest vehicle on the streets to day. With the chassie and roll cage design these car are built to wreck at speeds of 200 m.p +. Thay allso have the looks & handeling of the real thing. With all the upgrades thay can allso be verry comfortable.
