In all honesty I think the author is quite ignorant to what you just stated; we're not the same and we depend heavily on transportation and PT just isn't going to work over so big a land mass as the U.S. Seems like the rest of the world has it out for us and will take any jab/slight towards us because somehow "they deserve it".
