Unfortunate to see a Vette messed up because of $1700. I say $1700 because that's about what it cost me to have winter tires put on my Vette. If you want to drive in the cold, get the right tires for it and if you decide to drive it without them be prepared for the consequences.
I had to do the same thing for my ZL1, right tires for the right season.
