Might want to use past tense when refering to Boyd. Not to speak ill of the dead, but I used to be a big fan of Boyd's cars until I started watching his show. Now not so much. I never saw him design anything or ever even touch a tool. While his workers would work into the wee hours he was home comfy in bed.
Chip on the other hand has my deep respect. He designs 'em, he works on them, and is there alongside his crew the whole time. Chip is the man!!!
As for not pranking the "marks", I'd bet it is increasing difficult to do anyway what with the popularity of the show among car enthusiast. Sometimes I thought it was a little lame so I don't miss it that much. More time to show them working on the car!
