How did Mustang #00001 end up in St. John's Newfoundland?

The story goes that Ford decided that ALL Ford dealers in North America would have at least one Mustang for display by 4/17/64, Announcement Day. This meant the logistics would require the furthest dealers would have their cars shipped earliest. Number 00001 went to the furthest point, east, in North America, St. John's. The furthest point, west, at that time was Alaska, and that's where Number 00002 went (Anchorage, I believe).

The purchaser of Number 1 was a pilot who, when Ford realized the historical significance of 00001, was offered the 1,000,000th Mustang in exchange for 00001.

I wonder what the 1,000,000th one is worth, today, and if it survives? Probably not quite as many Loonies as Serial Number 00001, eh b'y? I 'spect Ron Pratte would pay a LOT more for ol' 00001.
