As far as refineries, it is the federal goverment that is making it hard for the oil companies to build or modify refineries, just like they are keeping us from exploring for new oil and gas. We have a bunch of pinheads in congress and the outlook is dim.
This being said I just could not be happy without my Camaro V8, it would just not be the same. Also, this might be one of tha last V8 muscle cars ever built and I hope to say that I own one.

We need gas for our Camaro SS and we need it now!
I couldn't agree more.

The energy bill that was just voted down in congress, had all the new oil and gas reserve drilling provisions in it. As well as those for building new refineries.

I'm not trying to start a Dem Rep fight. I'm just throwing this out there for information. But, most Republicans voted for it, and almost all Democrats voted against it.

Again, not trying to pick a fight. The Republicans didn't do anything to prevent this while they were in power either. So, in my opinion they both are to blame.

Here's an interesting video of Congress Woman Maxine Waters... She actually says she wants the federal government to take over the oil companies...

I don't care if you are a Dem. or Rep. The federal government needs to get out of the F'n way and let experts do what they do best to help us get away from foreign oil. 11 of the 15 largest oil companies in the world are Nationally owned. Meaning they are owned by their government. The U.S. is the only country that doesn't own their own oil companies and we have the lowest gas prices of modern countries that import oil because of it.

Our Government needs to quit getting in the way of progress and let our business men get to work using our own resources. I'm telling you we will never look back. It will be great.

Now for the real kick in the teeth.

Here's an article that shows how the State and Federal government is making much more profit on a gallon of Gas then the oil companies are. If you care about this topic you have to read this article.

Quote:
Since 1977, governments collected more than $1.34 trillion, after adjusting for inflation, in gasoline tax revenues—more than twice the amount of domestic profits earned by major U.S. oil companies during the same period.
This page shows by state how much money is made on a gallon of gas.

So who's really ripping us off?

I don't want to hijack this thread to another tax conversation but there is some great data on this site.
