Hopefully we got everything wrapped (I kind of got drafted to pick up some slack concerning the youngest granddaughter's gifts and conned into showing the oldest granddaughter how to wrap - that part I might have been set up for and managed to walk right into . . . oh well, kind of a Huck Finn thing).
Son and son-in-law are both home (both are CDL-A, so my house is home to more than just my wife and me). Son (ex-chef) whipped up a prime rib for last night (not much was left), and shrimp and bacon-wrapped scallops for appetizers about an hour ago that are pretty well gone. Daughter is doing up the desert menu.
That youngest granddaughter (3rd grade, age 8) is an early riser - her being up by 5 AM on any given day is nothing - so I'm not expecting any of us will get to sleep in tomorrow.
Might be time to attack that ham that's just sitting there on the stove unattended . . .
