Don't get me wrong, gas motors are great for most things. Pulling 8000lbs or more is not one of them though.
Both of our diesels have held up very well. They've both had to be put in the shop a few times, turbo died in the 6.7 around 230k, manual transmission has gone twice in the 5.9 which seems really odd. The auto in the 6.7 has been bullet proof thus far.
