You can Google it but I remember hearing things about them having photographers come in to take a pic of a certain "thing" and having set up corridors/dividers and steering the guy into a certain room and having security guards as escorts. Now a days they make you check all your electronics at the counter etc...
They go through great measures, when you see something it's because they want you to. If something does slip out that they didn't want to they find out who is responsible and fire people.
GM is one of the reasons the whole concept of "Corporate Espionage" exists. When you think about the money spent the stakes are high. Think about the 5th Gen Camaro supposedly cost a Billion dollars to develop. I never did hear about the ne Corvette.
This isn't just GM most large Manufacturers are like this it seems to be talked about more in the auto industry. It's probably because we love are cars so much.
