People do miss small trucks, and I would agree somewhat that the midsize trucks may be a tad big and encroaching a bit much on the full size. That said, the full size trucks are now larger than the used to be, and a midsize is closer to what a fullsize used to be 15 - 20 years ago. I don't need a full size, and I'll bet a good percentage of full size owners could get by just fine with a midsize.
For those wanting a Ranger/S10 sized truck, the single and regular cab Colorados/Canyon's aren't really that much bigger.
For me, a truck the size of a crew cab Colorado is the perfect size for me. My 2006 Colorado Crew cab 4x4 Z71 feels just right.

Something that's just smaller than a full size with fuel efficient but still capable powertrains is exactly what I'd want.

I agree...although I I'd probably want more efficiency than capability as the largest stuff I'm likely to haul would be a couple dirt bikes, a fourwheeler or pull a small trailer. But of course, as a truck it needs to have some capability. But for those buyers wanting to work....just get a full size.

The side profile will likely look the same or very similar, but the front ends are going to look way different. (As they should! I'd never buy that Malibu-ish looking Colorado). Also, hopefully the interiors will be different.
