See, this is exactly why I will typically download the entire album to see if I like it first.
I don't like spending that much money on music just to find out that the album sucks (minus one or two songs). Are 2 good songs and 8-10 bad songs worth $12?
But if I download the album, have a listen, and it's good, then I have no problem going to the store and picking up the CD to support the band.
Besides, artists generally make all their money off of merchandise, concert ticket sales and royalties anyway. And the last time I checked, the labels are all sitting on seriously healthy profits. If they're claiming that piracy is hurting people's wallets, then maybe it's their job to re-think their pay scale.
