The wasted opportunity is not for me, but for GM to make a product that stands out. They have a competent yet plainly designed four door performance sedan, but at the moment, there's nothing about it that makes it stand out. Why go with this over an SRT8, something from Germany, CTS-V, new CTS/ATS, etc.? A manual transmission would have given it something unique since the styling certainly isn't. To be fair, though, I do like the simple look of the car.
I still feel like this is a stopgap for the NASCAR program until GM has an in-house car to use as their template since the NASCAR bodies are now manufacturer-specific.
