I can clarify for you "The GT500 has not beat a single Zl1 on a road course in the US in any head to head competition with an experienced driver behind the wheel in both cars"
Track day videos are deceiving and terrible references for how a car performs against another car as it is 100% the driver. Any experienced driver can go out in a group and run down inexperienced drivers on a road course. I have video of me passing ZL1, Z06, ZR1, Ferrari, Lotus, Porsche etc in my stock 1LE. I can not go around saying my car is faster as they were all students and I have been instructing and racing for 15+ years....I am faster, not the car.
If you watch the video you can see the Ferrari in the first half of the video is clearly faster than the GT500 but the Ferrari driver has issues in some of the corners and the GT500 driver catches him at those points. Is the GT500 faster.....no, the driver just has a better line in those corners.
I stand behind my statement.
