True. BUT how many people are going to race it a Laguna Seca, or Streets of Willow or VIR? Hardly anyone. The point being these track times at least give us an idea / benchmark of the vehicles capability.
With that being said, people are mainly going to buy what they think looks good. The GM fanboys will buy the Camaro, the Ford fanboys will buy the Mustang. There isn't too much that is going to change that. The people that drive the sales don't particularly care about a lot of the capabilities of the car. If GM & Ford put a 250 hp V8 under the hood today, people would still buy it.
