There's a huge show every Sunday after July 4th in my hometown of Dedham, MA at the Endicott Estate. It at least used to be the biggest one day show east of the Mississippi
I have seen some wild and rare cars there.
A guy drove in a 1920s Bugatti racer 10 or 12 years ago. A Type 13? I'm not up on my ancient Bugattis but you get the idea.
But the cake was taken by a car that a lot of people walked by. They thought it was a kit car, some weird one-off, except for 5 or 6 people. It had rocked-dented aluminum body parts.
Although this car would be beaten by new cars on tracks, the top of the food chain at the vintage car show was on display as far as I'm concerned- a Ford enthusiast with lots of money drove in a legit, race veteran 1966 GT40 MKII with a 289. This was '91 or '92
You can put that car on a track vs a Veryon etc and it will probably lose. But the real race veteran, that was driven flat-out for an entire race- sometimes they raced 24 hours- that car, street legal full-on racer which dueled on the world's prestige sportscar circuits- that's the stuff
