I traded in a truck for a no payment used Tahoe that gets the same gas mileage. Largely because the total cost of operating the truck was near 800 buck a month. Now, my insurance has gone down. no more payment and the 2wd Tahoe gets better MPG than the 4wd truck did. I'm surprised more people aren't doing this regardless of how much money they make.
The problem that most of us are finding is that your evidence for your argument is flawed... the income that is suggested must be for a household of 5 or something like that because i am a sinlge man making under 10k a year and i find no problems paying for gas... i live on campus at a school, so all my housing expenses except for food are paid for all at once, so i might not count just yet... i'll be in an apartment next semester though so we'll see how my financial situation changes...

did you know that if our government had let Shell oil company tap the Oil shale underneath the 4 corner states we could be selling oil at 15-20$ per barrel of better oil than all the OPEC countries combines right now? our gas prices could be down under a dollar if Bush wasn't in bed with the oil companies... There are 5 billion barrels of oil under those states... i say tap the shit now!!! it doesn't leave a scar on the land and we have the tech to do it WITHOUT strip mining it like they do in Canada (for the Canadians on the board I'm sorry if this is no longer accurate this was as of 2006). Why aren't we doing something with this NOW?!?!?!?!?!
