My wife's small SUV has a turbo 2.0 and it is fun and peppy enough on the low end, it goes good! But put it in manual mode and try to rev it and you can tell it is lacking on the upper end..

Yep, really matches up to my thinking. I am would guess the Fusion would be a bit ahead at the start, with the Impala catching up (or possibly slightly ahead) at the 1/4 mile and the Impala continually pulling after that point. that said i am seriously considering a 12 or 13 Impala now. You can get a 12 LT for around 15k, with 302 HP and 30 MPG hwy, one heck of a deal IMHO.
