Agreed, the GT500 is a throwback to a 60's muscle car, the new Vette is a modern sports car. They are two different cars and designed for different purposes. The Vette shines on the track and it should, where the GT500 shines on the drag strip. By looking at the two 1/4 mile times you can tell the GT500 is much faster than the new Vette by looking at the trap speeds. The Vette probably hooks up nicely and crosses the traps about 114MPH giving it mid 12's. The Shelby has problems hooking up but can still cross the traps around 125MPH and come out with a low 12. Thats a big difference.
The are both great beasts, and I love my ZL1, but Shelby has left a legacy. Its one fast drag car and that's what its suppose to be.
