Most "christians" I know are the most hateful, hypocritical and judgemental people I have encountered. There are a few good ones but most just like to feel superior to everyone else. Confess on Sunday then spend the rest of the week feeling entitled to do everything Jesus said not to... People like to have their thinking done for them and organized religion suits this goal perfectly. We've turned into a nation of sheep. You can be spiritual without giving up your right to think for yourself. And also religion allows people to make up artifice in their head about heaven because we're the only species that can contemplate and even plan our own death, so if we make up a bunch of happy horses**t about going to paradise after we die, it makes the fear of death bearable.
