There are acetone-free nail polish removers, if you're going this route, its the only way.
If you cant find any, normal remover can be used (though I highly advise against it)...acetone is indeed a strong solvent, its effect on fully cured clear coat is normally insignificant, assuming the exposure time is short. Keep it away from plastics though.
Even some polish remover (acetone-free or not) will haze your cured clearcoat, it is normally easily fixed by a quality polish. Just be quick, as any prolonged exposure can dissolve both the coat and the paint. Also a few rinses of the area immediately after "treatment" are not a bad idea.
Whatever your decision is, if you use a solvent, it is always a good idea to test it in inconspicuous place first. Always keep in mind the less solvent gets on your car's clear coat, the more you minimize any potential damage.
