So according to the marketing department, laurels are outdated and obsolete but a f'ing HERALDRIC SHIELD isn't. Something tells me marketing wanted to chuck everything and start with an entirely new logo, but all they could get management to agree to get rid of was the laurels.

Good. Marketing's new logo probably would have been a swoosh-y "C" (bad, very bad) and we'd all have to pray some rebellious design guy made it vaguely look like Kate Upton's boobs (good, very good).
