the DPF in my service truck has over 500,000 on it and I have had it cleaned one time. I have had injector failure twice, where does a DPF get metals from? EGR Cooler failure also does not make it a reason to replace, caking is usually a result of oil or a timing issue (fuel or heat) and then they typically cook them to clean them. If they can't they cut them apart and replace usually the cake that cannot be cleaned.
