That is a hot steaming load of PR BS. It is an extra device, just like a memory card, or a hard drive. If it was part of the system the Xbox wouldn't function without it. If I removed the CPU from the motherboard would it function? Nope. That's because the CPU is part of the system, unlike Kinect.
